Unable to create a task in colony-example-react and colony-starter-react

I tried running the colony-example-react and was able to run all transactions successfully except adding a task.
When I tried developing with the colony-starter-react, I was able to add domains both by the colonyClient of the default colony creates as well the colony I created with my new token but I am not able to add a task in both cases. I have added the necessary role for the address and created an IPFS hash to send in the function.
I am did not find any other prerequisites in the docs for adding a Task but the transaction fails every time.
Here is the code for addTask that I am using currently:

async setTask () {
       const res = await this.props.colonyClient.addTask.send({
        specificationHash: 'QmVw8YsjCQxq8C4yvQRNXthuNoYGmWwP3HfeAPGuJg8Jub',
        domainId: 6,
        skillId: 14
      });
      console.log(res);
  }

I am receiving the following error with the failed transaction:

{code: -32603, message: "Error: [ethjs-rpc] rpc error with payload {"id":47…method":"eth_sendRawTransaction"} [object Object]", stack: "Error: Error: [ethjs-rpc] rpc error with payload {…method":"eth_sendRawTransaction"} [object Object]"}
